At least two policemen were killed and two others wounded in a roadside blast targeting a police van in northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province of Pakistan, said officials on Tuesday.
The blast struck a police van in Mansehra district of KPK killing two policemen including a senior official, said Official at the police control room Naveed Khan to the media. The police van was providing security to a convoy of passenger buses traveling in the area, he added. The police van was completely destroyed in the powerful blast. Security forces cordoned off the area and a search operation went underway for clearance.
The blast came at a time when security forces are carrying strict measures against the militants across Pakistan following a brutal attack on a military run school in Peshawar city of KPK in December last year, killing at least 132 children.
