
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Sunday that resolving the humanitarian issues in Syria will be a boost to trust between the Syrian parties involved in Geneva 2. Speaking to Russia's NTV station, the Minister stressed on the importance of lifting the siege imposed by the Syrian government or opposition on urban areas. He also suggested that the exchange of prisoners would have a positive impact on negotiations in Geneva. He noted that the first day of the conference saw emotions flair. Lavrov maintained his belief that now a more constructive dialogue can begin.
