Russian military cargo plane makes emergency landing

A military IL-76 cargo plane made an emergency landing due to engine failure in Russia's Chelyabinsk region on Friday, authorities said. South Urals Transport Police said one of the plane's four engines failed 40 minutes after take-off. The plane, headed for Moscow with six people aboard, landed safely at the Shagol aiport, the Interfax news agency reported. Investigators said one possible cause for the engine failure was that a bird might have been sucked into the plane's turbine.
