Storm "Niklas" has killed at least three people in Germany after it wreaked havoc in many parts of the country on Tuesday, local media reported.
One man was killed by a concrete wall blown over by the storm in the eastern state of Saxony-Anhalt, two people from a road maintenance company were killed by a falling tree in Germany's western state of Rhineland-Palatinate, German media Spiegel Online reported.
According to the report, regional trains have been cancelled in North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony early on Tuesday.
The storm also forced the suspension of long-distance trains in Bavaria on Tuesday afternoon.
In Munich, the main hall of the railway station was evacuated due to storm damage.
Heavy winds also halted air traffic at Frankfurt airport, affecting a total of 150 planes, German local media Tagesschau reported.
According to the German Weather Service (DWD), "Niklas" was one of the strongest storms in recent years that hit Germany, with gusts up to 150 kilometers per hour. The DWD expects the wind to come down at night.
