Sudan floods kill 68, injure 56, displace 46000 families

Heavy torrential rains and floods in Sudan have led to the death of 68 people, the injury of 56 others and the displacement of 46,000 families during the country’s annual rainy season, the government said on Thursday. The heavy floods destroyed a huge number of residential homes, with 13,000 having totally collapsed and 32,000 partially destroyed, Sudanese Interior Minister Ibrahim Mahmoud said in a press statement.
