
A suspect was shot dead and two police officers injured in an exchange of gunfire in the U.S. state of Texas Friday. The shootout happened in downtown Granbury, a north Texas city, when the two officers were pursuing the suspect, local TV ABC13 reported. Dozens of shots were believed to be fired in the exchange. The suspect was fatally shot by law enforcement while the two officers were wounded, the report said. They have been sent to hospitals and their conditions remained unknown, it added. TV footage showed a white van apparently involved in the violent exchange remained at the scene and the suspect's body was covered with a sheet. The suspect's identity was not released and an investigation is underway.
