Nate Summerfield, subject of a nationwide manhunt for allegedly strangling his girlfriend, was captured in Wadsworth, Ohio, officials announced Wednesday. Peter Elliott of the U.S. Marshal's Office told a press conference at the Ashland County (Ohio) Courthouse Summerfield was found in a local hotel, and was taken into custody unarmed and offering no resistance. Summerfield will be extradited to North Carolina, where he will be tried in the death of Lynn Jackenheimer, an Ohio woman described as his girlfriend. Her body was found while they vacationed at North Carolina's Outer Banks during an Independence Day holiday, WJW-TV reported Wednesday. At the press conference Elliott and Ashland County Sheriff E. Wayne Risner thanked the local community for its efforts to find Summerfield. "I'm glad it's over and I'm glad that we can take the (wanted) posters down, and now the process can begin in North Carolina," Risner said.
