A 19-year-old Swedish man was electrocuted early Friday morning when he climbed onto a freight train in central Sweden, the local newspaper Falkopings Tidning reported.
The man's friends called the police and emergency services, who turned off the current and determined that the man was dead.
Bjor Blixter, spokesman for the police in the region where the incident occurred, said that similar incidents happen every year "but people still try to climb on the trains."
He added that it is not necessary to actually step on the rails to be electrocuted. It is not known why the man climbed on the train.
