Tajikistan's national railway said it blamed neighboring Uzbekistan for the derailment of a train carrying Tajik military conscripts in northern Tajikistan. A rail line from the Tajik capital of Dushanbe to the country's north passes through Uzbekistan. It was constructed when both nations were a part of the Soviet Union. Tajik Railways said Uzbekistan failed to provide information it was carrying out repairs on a section of railway passing through its territory, adding Uzbek authorities were advised a non-scheduled train would be using the rail lines, the news website Asia-Plus reported Friday. The train, carrying about 200 new military conscripts, derailed in Uzbek territory Thursday. Between 12 and 65 people were injured, none fatally, the Russian news agency RIA Novosti said.
