Two men on board a light aircraft which crashed in central Ireland's County Offaly Sunday afternoon were pronounced dead at the scene, Irish police said Sunday evening. The pilot was in his 30s and the other man was in his 20s, police said. Earlier, police said there were two male casualties on board. Police were notified at approximately 4.50 p.m. (local time) that all contact had been lost between air traffic control and the aircraft. At 6.30 p.m. (local time), the wreckage of a Cessna Light Training Aircraft was discovered at Clonkelly Upper, Birr, Co Offaly. Emergency services immediately attended the scene which is currently preserved. Police said they are investigating the circumstances of the aircraft accident.
