UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon strongly condemned the attack on a convoy of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in northern Kosovo earlier today and resulted in the death of one EULEX staff member. "The Secretary General expresses his sincere condolences to the family of the EULEX staff member who lost his life," a statement attributable to Ban said here. "He further calls for a swift and thorough investigation to bring to justice the perpetrators of this cowardly attack. UNMIK is providing its full support in this regard," it added. Ban also underlined the key role played by the international presences in Kosovo, as he stressed the importance for all concerned to cooperate with the investigation and ensure security and freedom of movement of EULEX and other international presences in the implementation of their respective mandates
