France won the Olympic gold medal Sunday in men's team handball, defeating Sweden 22-21 in the championship game. It was the second straight Olympic title for the French, who downed Iceland to win the gold medal in 2008. Sweden settled for its fourth silver medal since the sport became part of the Olympic program in 1972. The bronze medal went to Hungary, which defeated Croatia in the third-place game 26-23.
