Milica Mandic upset the current world champion and won the first gold medal of the Olympics for Serbia Saturday in women's heavyweight taekwondo. Mandic defeated Alle-Caroline Graffe of France 9-7 in the finals of the over 67 kilogram class after getting past defending Olympic champion Maria del Rosario Espinoza of Mexico in the quarterfinals. In the men's over 80 kilogram class, Gabon's Anthony Obame earned his country its first Olympic medal in history -- a silver. Obame lost to Italy's Carlo Molfetta in the championship match. Molfetta became the second Italian to win a medal in the sport.
