India defeated Afghanistan by 23 runs in their group A match at the World Twenty20 in Colombo on Wednesday. India scored 159-5 after being sent in to bat and then bowled out Afghanistan for 136 with three balls to spare at the Premadasa stadium. Defending champions England are the third team in the group, from where the top two will advance to the Super Eights round.
