A Syracuse-San Diego State college basketball game set to be played on the aircraft carrier USS Midway has been rescheduled, the schools said Tuesday. The season-opening game pitting the ninth-ranked Orange against the No. 20 Aztecs had been set for 5 p.m. Friday, but a wet and windy weather forecast for San Diego has prompted a rescheduling to 4 p.m. Sunday. The "Battle On The Midway" is to be played on the open deck of the retired aircraft carrier moored in San Diego Harbor. "We remain committed to this once-in-a-lifetime experience for our student-athletes and our fans," Syracuse Director of Athletics Daryl Gross said. "We are very sorry for the inconvenience this change may have caused our fans. The weather predictions have forced the postponement." The National Weather Service in San Diego has predicted a 75 percent chance of showers falling in the city during the original Friday game time.
