Ben Foster is hoping a swift decision will be made on his future regarding either a return to Birmingham City or a permanent deal at West Bromwich Albion. The goalkeeper has impressed during a season-long loan at West Brom after moving to The Hawthorns following Birmingham's relegation from the Premier League. Baggies boss Roy Hodgson is keen to hang on to the former England international and is aiming to hold talks with Birmingham soon regarding a possible permanent arrangement. A decision is likely to hinge on whether Blues win promotion back to the top flight, with Foster enjoying his time with West Brom. Homely Foster said: "If a decision can be made soon, then fantastic. I've got nothing but good things to say about Birmingham and the same now about West Brom. I've loved my time here and at Birmingham. "We've obviously got to come to a decision at the end of the season and I think Birmingham will be the ones who make it. "The Championship season finishes earlier than the Premier League so I'm sure, come the end of that, a decision will be made one way or the other. "I've made some very good friends here and it's very similar to Birmingham, it's a very homely, family-orientated club. I'm just enjoying playing football with good people." Foster has enjoyed playing regular first-team football since leaving Manchester United two years ago, but admits there are more important things in his life. He said: "I don't get carried away with the whole football thing really. It is a job to me, to be honest. "I do love playing on a Saturday but it's a job and there are a lot more important things in my life. My family is more important than anything else. "But even people like my wife will agree, when I'm not playing first-team football I'm like a bear with a sore head and it's not nice. It does affect everything and I'm very happy and settled here."
