Olympic gold medallist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and world champion Carmelita Jeter headline a strong field for the women's 100m at the New York Diamond League athletics meeting on June 9. The field for the event will also include Trinidad and Tobago's Kelly-Ann Baptiste, while in other races Jeremy Wariner will return to Icahn Stadium to defend his 400m title. Jamaica's men's 100m world champion Johan Blake is also slated to compete, organizers said. Jeter, Baptiste and Fraser-Pryce were ranked No. 1, 3 and 4 in the world in the 100m in 2011. Fraser-Pryce led an unprecedented women's 100 meters Olympic medal sweep for Jamaica in Beijing. Jeter, 32, turned the tables last year at the World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, winning the 100m and capturing silver in the 200m along with anchoring the US squad to gold in the 4x100m relay. Baptiste claimed the 100m bronze at Daegu, edging Fraser-Pryce for the last podium place. The meeting is the sixth stop on the Diamond League circuit.
