An experienced skydiver died while attempting a solo jump in central Texas, officials said. Emergency responders were called to Texas Skydiving Center just after 4 p.m. Sunday after the accident, KXAN-TV, Austin, Texas, reported. The unidentified man, who was in his 50s, was dead when first responders arrived. The Lee County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene. The report said the man was an experienced jumper and was attempting a solo jump at the time. He apparently did not release his emergency parachute on time after experiencing problems during his jump. This was the second skydiving death in central Texas in the past month; Daniel Potts, 61, died during a jump at Skydive San Marcos in early March when his parachute failed to open.
