Despite Adriano's achievement of dropping to 100 kilos, Corinthians coach Tite demonstrated his dissatisfaction with the striker on Friday, barring him from upcoming matches. According to Tite, Adriano did not practice nearly hard enough during the week, causing the coach to become irritated. The coach declared that Adriano will be excluded from the team's next two matches and will continue his exclusive physical conditioning exercises. Adriano optimistically shared his positive results of dropping weight and stated his optimism in traveling to play against Mexico's Cruz Azul on March 14 in the Libertadores Cup. However, Tite made it clear that the polemic striker will stay in Brazil and will also sit out of the match against Guarani on March 10 in the Sao Paulo state championship. Tite described Adriano's last week of practice as lacking energy and intensity, calling his performance inferior to that of his teammates. Adriano will now look to make his debut in the 2012 Libertadores Cup on March 21 in the return leg against Cruz Azul.
