Star guard Stephen Curry's return to action for the Golden State Warriors was cut short when he re-injured his bruised left shin.
Curry played 14 minutes in the Warriors' home game against Denver on Saturday before getting hit on his still sore leg and departing the contest.
The reigning NBA Most Valuable Player finished with five points on two-of-six shooting from the field, including making one of five three-point attempts. He had four assists and two steals.
Curry sat out games on Wednesday and Thursday in Dallas and Houston with what the team called a lower leg bruise.
In his absence the Warriors suffered just their second loss of the season to the Mavericks before bouncing back to beat the Rockets.
Warriors interim coach Luke Walton indicated Saturday that he and his coaching staff would keep a close eye on Curry.
Curry himself said before the game that he was still experiencing pain and swelling in his lower leg.
