Arsène Wenger believes Benik Afobe will reap the benefits of his loan spell at Championship high-flyers Reading. The teenage forward sealed a temporary move to the Madejski Stadium on Thursday and could be thrust straight into action against Blackpool this weekend. Wenger says the move could be an important stepping stone for the 19-year-old as he continues his development. “[Afobe has gone out on loan] because he is the next central striker to come into our squad and he has been out for a long time with injury,” he told Arsenal Player. “I feel that two or three months in the Championship now will help him to get a step up and hopefully he will do very well there because he has the potential to do it. “Reading are on a good run and he can score some important goals for them. We will also see how he deals with that sort of pressure.”
