Heavy rains cause floods in Italy

Heavy rains have caused flooding, landslides and other damage throughout Italy, officials say. Italy's Massa Carrara province received almost 10 inches of rainfall between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. Saturday to Sunday, the Agenzia Giornalistica Italia reported. Many streets flooded and landslips and slides occurred. In La Spezia, about 100 people were evacuated as a precaution. Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio have been warned against flooding as rain is expected in the area through Monday, AGI said.
