A new round of flooding resulted from heavy rains might affect more than half of Slovenia, the Environmental Agency said on Sunday. Heavy rains, expected to reach Slovenia by Sunday evening, will cause many rivers to burst their banks, posing a danger to property and even life in the night and during the day on Monday, the agency said. The new warning was issued less than a week after floods ravaged the northern parts of the country and inflicted heavy damage on residential areas and farmland. About 4,000 buildings were reportedly damaged by the bursting of several rivers, most by the Drava in the north-east. Total damage caused by the massive flooding is likely go beyond 209 million euros (about 265 million U.S. dollars), according to Defense Minister Ales Hojs.
