I liked the idea behind the story and the cover but I found the catch-line a bit cheesy: "Nothing burns like first love." I don't like things that focus on love and think that love is a story and have no actual storyline. I couldn't have been more wrong! Skin Deep was a powerfully moving story of an unfortunate girl called Jenna, who is disfigured when caught up in a car crash, and has no idea what she wants to do with her life. She would rather have died like her best friend who was in the car with her, instead she is alive, and sure she is so ugly that no-one will ever love her. This beautiful story is full of twists and turns, is sad and heart-breaking and bursting with sarcastic humour! From Jenna and Ryan comes a story like no other I have ever read. I loved it and I can't stop raving about it. I consumed it in hours. It was gentle and sad and compelling, something in it for everyone to love!
