His Majesty King Abdullah II discussed with US Secretary of Treasury Jack Lew ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries, mainly in the economic domains.
During the meeting, King Abdullah thanked the US for its continued support to the Kingdom and for the guaranteeing the Kingdom’s loans, which helped Jordan issue bonds in the international markets, thus easing the cost of borrowing.
The US official affirmed that his country will continue to support Jordan and help it to grapple with the repercussions of the influx of Syrian refugees. He also praised the King’s vision in dealing with challenges facing the Middle East and his efforts to achieve peace and enhance security and stability.
The meeting was attended by HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah, the Royal Court chief, the director of the King’s office and the Jordanian envoy to US.
