South Korea's economy grew 0.8 percent third quarter from the previous quarter, the central bank said Tuesday. The figure, revised from an earlier report of 0.7 percent growth, was still the lowest in three quarters, blamed on sputtering domestic demand, the Bank of Korea said. The country's GDP grew 1.3 percent in the first quarter but the economy has shown "moderating or stagnant" performance since then as domestic demand has remained sluggish, the bank said. The report said exports in the third quarter weathered the global slowdown, but domestic demand and facility investment grew at a slower pace than previously estimated.
