Korean auto giant Hyundai announced Tuesday that year-end productivity in its St. Petersburg factory is 10 percent ahead of earlier predictions. "We have managed to get a month ahead of schedule on this year' s production targets. By the end of the year we will have produced 220,000 vehicles, thereby allowing us to meet growing consumer demand," said Kim Shi Pyong, executive director of the plant. Hyundai now accounts for more than half of all vehicles produced in Russia's second-largest city. The St. Petersburg facility was also voted the best-performing of Hyundai-Kia's 26 major installations around the world. The Korean giant enjoys a 12 percent market share in the Russian auto industry as a whole.
