HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani will inaugurate Qapco’s third low-density polyethylene plant (LDPE 3) at Mesaieed this morning. The new plant will enhance Qapco’s output to 700,000 tonnes per year of low-density polyehtylene, with LDPE 3 making up nearly half that number. Testing and commissioning of the plant were completed in August with the inauguration of the plant coming within three years after the foundation stone was laid by HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
