The first Sukhoi regional aircraft received by Russian flagship carrier Aeroflot may be converted into business jets, a top company official said Thursday. Aeroflot has taken delivery of 10 of the 30 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft it ordered, RIA Novosti reported. Speaking to reporters in Jakarta, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Vice President Igor Syrtsov said the planes already delivered could be turned into business jets and sold to other customers. The Superjet 100 can carry up to 100 passengers for 2,800 miles. It was developed by the Russian firm Sukhoi in cooperation with U.S. and European aviation companies and was certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency in February.
