Toyota will recall 1.4 million vehicles from the Chinese market from Nov. 1 over faulty window switches, according to an announcement on Wednesday by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. The administration said in a statement that the recall is the Japanese manufacturer's largest in China, accounting for nearly 19 percent of the company's global recall of 7.43 million vehicles in this move. The massive recall is due to a glitch in the power window master switch, which may lead to window switches malfunctioning, according to the statement. The recall involves both locally manufactured and imported Camry, Yaris, Highlander, Corolla and Rav4 models, the statement said. The company's dealers will contact owners of affected vehicles to address potential problems free of charge.
