Three ships coming from Russia arrived at Alexandria port on Sunday carrying 158,000 tons of corn on board.
The shipment was unloaded smoothly and samples were taken to be examined whether they are fit for human consumption or not, acting head of Alexandria Harbor Authority Fathi Taha said.
Navigation movement was not disrupted despite the cold weather hitting the city, he said.
The latest technological methods are being used in linking between all Egyptian ports to facilitate measures for both exporters and importers, he added.
Also, three shipping coming from Russia and Ukraine of wheat, 140,000 tons, are being unloaded in the port.
Meanwhile, 13,000 tons of butane coming from Algeria and 30,000 tons of gasoline coming from Italy are being unloaded in the port.
