
Amman Stock Exchange ended its two-week decline by gaining 78.1 points in past week trading, according to figures of the bourse on Friday. Benchmark for the week closing increased to 1888 points, compared with 1809. 9 points of the previous week, a boost of 4.31 percent. As to sectors, the main index of the financial sector was up 3.43 percent, the industries 4.86 percent, and the services 4.41 percent. Volume of daily trading amounted to approximately USD 8.4 million, compared with USD 5.7 million the week before; with an increased proportion of 46.2 percent. Overall volume of trades of the week was at USD 42.5 million, in contrast with USD 29 million the week before. Number of traded shares reached 28.7 million, done through 16,940 deals. As to sectors' contributions in volume of trade, financial sector came first, 69 percent of the overall trade, followed by services, 16.4 percent, and lastly the industries, 14.6 percent. Comparing prices of closing of trading companies, amounting to 175, with previous closing, stock price of 117 ones increased and those of 27 others dropped.
