The Australian dollar was level in Tuesday trading.
The local unit was trading at 73.71 U.S. cents, down from 73.77 U.S. cents on Monday.
Local analysts told media outlets the Australian dollar was among one of many currencies that were performing better this week despite a fall in oil and base metal prices overnight.
But the local traders will be closely watching the release of the minutes of the Reserve Bank Of Australia (RBA) later on Tuesday.
The RBA has kept the cash rate unchanged at a record low of two percent for the past three months.
