The US dollar traded at lower 84 yen level early Monday morning in Tokyo, due to expectations for further monetary easing in Japan following the victory of the Liberal Democratic Party in Sunday's general election. At 9 am local time, the dollar was quoted at 84.14-16 yen, compared with 83.48-58 yen in New York and 83.66-68 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday. The euro fetched 1.3167-3169 dollars and 110.78-81 yen against 1.3156-3166 dollars and 109.85-95 yen in New York and 1.3110-3112 dollars and 109.68-72 yen in Tokyo late Friday afternoon.
