Dollar trades at upper 88-yen level in early Tokyo deals

The U.S. dollar traded at the upper 88 yen level early Wednesday in Tokyo. At 9 a.m., the dollar fetched 88.76-80 yen compared with 88.75- 85 yen in New York and 88.82-83 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The euro was quoted at 1.3309-3310 dollars and 118.12-15 yen against 1.3299-3309 dollars and 118.08-18 yen in New York and 1. 3347-3348 dollars and 118.55-59 yen in Tokyo late Tuesday afternoon.
