Dollar trades at upper ¥96 level in early Tokyo deals

The U.S. dollar traded at the upper 96 yen level early Friday in Tokyo, almost unchanged from its overnight levels in New York. At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 96.76-77 yen compared with 96.67-77 yen in New York and 96.20-22 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Thursday. The euro fetched 1.3378-3380 dollars and 129.46-48 yen against 1.3377-3387 dollars and 129.30-40 yen in New York and 1.3344-3347 dollars and 128.38-42 yen in Tokyo late Thursday afternoon.
