Egypt and Russia are currently looking forward to increasing the volume of trade between them in various fields of animal production.
Egypt's Agriculture Minister Essam Fayed said Saturday that the ministry is discussing procedures with the Russian veterinary authorities to start exporting Egyptian dairy products to Russia.
Seven Egyptian companies for dairy products have been registered and adopted in this regard, he added.
The minister said that the Egyptian bodies concerned will coordinate with the Russian side to inspect Russian slaughterhouses that would be adopted in importing meat to Egypt in accordance with international standards adopted by FAO and OIE.
Veterinarian committees will be formed to travel to Russia to meet import demands in accordance with the requirements, he added.
