
Europe's main stock markets opened flat on Monday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index up by only 0.05 percent to 6,828.88 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 edged up 0.04 percent to 9,991.40 points and in Paris the CAC 40 index dipped 0.02 percent to stand at 4,540.52 compared with Friday's closing level.
In Paris shares in power and rail group Alstom rose by 1.43 percent to 28.40 euros and shares in conglomerate Bouygues rose by 0.34 percent to 32.39 euros after a weekend deal for the French state to become a shareholder as part of the sale of power assets to General Electric.
