Gold for December delivery fell slightly on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange Wednesday. Gold lost $1 to $1,764 per troy ounce with some pressure provided by the dollar, which was mixed in Asia and Europe. Silver added 3 cents to $34.01 per troy ounce. The euro fell to $1.2866 from Tuesday's $1.2885. Against the yen, the dollar fell to 78.18 yen from 78.26 yen. The dollar index, a pro-rated measure of the dollar's performance against six major currencies, rose 0.06 percent to 80.04 on the International Exchange.
