Gold prices rose slightly Tuesday, as equity markets turned flat after a one-day rally. Gold added $3.10 or 0.18 percent to reach $1,726.70 per troy ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Silver nudged higher, closing up 20 cents at $33.013 per ounce, a 0.61 percent gain. The euro rose to $1.2814 from Monday's $1.2813. Against the yen, the dollar rose to 81.68 yen from 81.41 yen. The British pound rose to $1.5926 from $1.5892. The U.S. dollar fell to 7.7503 Hong Kong dollars from 7.752 HKD.
