Gold futures for June delivery rose 0.59 percent Thursday to $1,559.80 per troy ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold added $9.20 per ounce. Silver futures for July delivery gained 63 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $28.15 per troy ounce. The dollar was mostly lower in Asia and mostly higher in Europe, with the dollar index up 0.28 percent to 82.27 on the International Exchange. The euro fell to $1.2532 from Wednesday's $1.2533. Against the yen, the dollar hit 79.58 from 79.59 yen. The British pound was $1.5665 from $1.567. The dollar was 1.0269 Canadian dollars from 1.0266 Canadian.
