Indonesian rupia-h strengthened in Tuesday morning trade among banks by six basis points to Rp 11,680 per US dollar from the previous Rp 11,686 per dollar.
A currency market analyst said, "The rupiah strengthened today after depreciating yesterday. This gain is limited due to lack of positive sentiment in the domestic market." He said money market traders were waiting for the ruling in the presidential election dispute at the Constitutional Court.
The court will announce the result Thursday.
The boost to rupiah coincides with some Asian currencies like Korea's won and Thailand's baht that also strengthened.
