Japanese shares fell in Friday morning trading on worries about the world economy, dpa reported. The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 47.09 points, or 0.53 per cent, to trade at 8,776.98 at the end of the morning session at 11:30 am (0230 GMT). The broader-based Topix index was down 4.54 points, or 0.60 per cent, at 749.42. In Tokyo, on currency markets at 11:30 am, the dollar traded at 80.16-20 yen, up from Thursday's 5 pm quote of 79.61-62 yen. The euro was quoted at 1.2557-60 dollars, down from 1.2649-50 dollars late Thursday, and at 100.68-70 yen, down from 100.70-74 yen.
