Stocks this past week did not perform as well as expected, as most of the market's indices took a hammering due to investors shying away from both blue chip and small stocks, a report by Bayan Investment Co. said on Saturday. For the better part of the week, speculative trading in stocks reigned over the market with many investors and traders opting to buy small stocks with manageable prices such as those in the real estate sector and the banking sector, said the report. Toward the end of the trading week, there was a rally, though brief, in the purchase of small stocks which boosted in a tiny measure the market's overall price index.
