Kuwaiti investments came third at the Jordanian stock exchange at the end of 2014, amounting to USD 1.6 billion, making up 6.5 percent of the listed shares.
The number of Kuwaiti investors at the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE), including government, institutions and individuals, reached 2,239, owning up to 243 million securities, the market said in a statement on Thursday.
Kuwaitis have strategic investments in the market covering all sectors, especially finance and industry. They rank third after Jordanian and Lebanese investments, CEO of the ASE Nader Azar told KUNA.
Non-Jordanian investments in the ASE include up to 100 nationalities, he added. They bought shares worth USD 449.9 million over the period January-November 2014, up to 26 percent of the total volume.
They sold share worth USD 486 million over the 11 months, marking a decline of 25 percent of non-Jordanian investment at the market, compared to the responding period in 2013, Azar noted.
