Nikkei closed at a 9-month high point Wednesday afternoon as weak yen boosted export. The 225-issue average closed up 150.24 points, or 1.49 percent, at the day's high of 10,230.36, just short of its year-to-date high of 10,255.15 set on March 27. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 9.70 points, or 1.16 percent, to 847. 71. Sea transport companies, consumer finance firms and steelmakers were the biggest winners. The turnover was about 1,322.2 billion yen (about 15.48 billion U.S. dollars).
