
The wholesale prices index for the month of August 2014 rose by 0.4% compared to the same period in 2013AD.
The Department of Statistics and Information explained in its report today that manufactured and miscellaneous goods topped the list of rising sections by 2.4%, followed by beverages and tobacco by 2.3%, chemicals and their products by 2.1%, and food, live animals and manufactured goods by 0.1%.
It noted that the declining sections included other goods by 5.6%, oils and animal and vegetal fats by 0.8%, raw materials except fuels by 0.4 percent and machinery and transport equipment by 0.2%.
The report showed that the index of wholesale prices for the month of August 2014 amounted to (159.5 points), compared to (159.3 points) in July 2014, an increase by 0.1%.
