
Tokyo stocks climbed Wednesday for the second straight day of gain as remarks by Russian President Vladimir Putin eased fears over an imminent military conflict in Ukraine.The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 176.15 points, or 1.2%, from Tuesday at 14,897.63. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 8.79 points, or 0.73%, higher at 1,212.90, according to Japan’s (Kyodo) News Agency. Major advancers included real estate, glass and insurance shares.
