Tokyo stocks finished slightly higher Monday, pushed up by gains in U.S. and European markets Friday and the yen's weakening against the dollar and the euro, which supported purchases of leading exporters, according to Nikkei.com. The Nikkei Stock Average ended the day at 10,018.24, up 6.77 points, or 0.07%. A broad range of issues opened higher in early trade. Some China-linked issues, including construction machinery makers, widened their gains in the afternoon due to the strong performance of the Shanghai stock market. But the Nikkei average trimmed its gains amid profit-taking due to a lack of fresh incentives at home and abroad. The trading value on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange came to 1.093 trillion yen.
