Tokyo stocks ended lower Thursday, dented by weak performances in overseas markets and the yen’s strengthening against the euro. The Nikkei Stock Average closed the session down 159.15 points, or 1.39%, at 11,309.13, according to (Nikkei) website. Speculation that the US Federal Reserve may scale down its monetary easing steps sent stocks lower on Western and Asian bourses, prompting Tokyo investors to lock in gains. Investor sentiment was also dampened by the yen’s climb to the upper-123 level against the euro.
